A quick review on 3 curriculum packages for the pre-K and elementary level Sunday School classes.
I have explored
1) www.HandsOnBible.com (the material that we used the past year)
2) www.GospelLight.com that came highly recommended,
3) the newly available VeggieConnections at www.veggiecurriculum.com
(you can go see the sample lessons online, but I also printed
everything out as well to bring to church next time).
Price: All at around or above $200/year. ($50 - $70 per season)
I find that GospelLight is a significant improvement over
HandsOnBible, with simpler structure, fun activities, and reoccuring
themes but deepening lessons for each successive year.
However, the new Veggie Curriculum is by far the best. The lesson
outline and teachers guides are much clearer, and focused, visually
and structurally. Furthermore, they have the advantage that kids are
already familiar with the themes of various videos and characters, so
the lessons that aim to deepen the concepts that appear in various
shows are much easier for kids to grasp. |
