Here is a collection of business principles which can innovatively be applied to marriages and our walk with God.
Business practice #1:
Get the income as soon as possible, while delay any payments as long as possible. AKA prioritize doing the beneficial thing. AKA pay yourself first.
Application to relationships:
- Have you spend your best time today with God or with your spouse?
- Praise first. Complain later. With our spouse, let kind and appreciative words be given immediately. Let our criticisms be delayed for a week.
For couples who have not communicated for a while, this application is particularly important. Instead of dwelling on each other's negative aspects which had caused the communication breakdown, let the first few initial weeks of your re-established communication be filled with positive words, and absolutely no negative input. They can be written down and delayed in sending.
e.g. Abraham Lincoln's angry letters to incompetent generals were never sent.
