Ideas for setting up a Resource Ministry
Various thoughts on running an efficient Resource Ministry without too much waste.

Dealing with the issue of people not really treasure resources:

need a social contract for resource ministry, to filter out and serve those who are serious.
The initial phase have use a bunch of resource to distribute, and found that people don't treat resources seriously if they are free. Indirectly this shows who have been trustworthy.

Have a rare collection for the serious - so that we don't scatter and lose items.

Offerings
We have an extensive collection of items, ranging from video (DVD, VHS), audio (CD, cassette, MP3), books, computer program, in every category, from babies, children,  teenagers and adults, in Christian living, entertainment,  and Bible studies, personal devotion, ...

For the high tech, we have MP3 players wireless microphone and speaker systems, and most recently a projector for computer or video displays, to enhance the time we spend in care group and fellowship times.

We are cataloging the collection via Amazon Store due to its easy of construction.

Survey for needs
Given the diverse needs of the congregation, we will start a new resource ministry personal program:

Please fill out the following survey, which will allow us to better serve you:

Question:.  How many hr / week and hr/month?

For those hours, how many are for DVD, book,

Let us be realistic, with the typical book being 299 pages, what is your reading speed, and what will that translate to in books finished per month?

How much of this is for personal Bible study?  Learning, or just reading?

How many hours per week, month did you use for this purpose in the past year?  Then budget at most twice that for your commitment (let us get real)

What type of media are you interested in?  DVD, computer, mP3, or just books.  Hard or soft cover?

How often - once a week, once a month, would you wish that I approach you?

To ask about your reading progress? or just what you want?

What form should Resource Ministry take?
Think of us a s your personal resource using or book reading coach and partner.

Think of us as a resource club, with members knowing each other's preferences, and helping each other.

To safeguard your commitment, I will ask for $20 deposit, refundable at year end when you show good usage of the program.  Email me if you wish to participate. Every book or resource you borrowed would require that you write a brief review, either a summary, or how you feel about ti,
