Celebrate your major anniversaries with Vows Renewal.
NHF sermon around April 2007, following the series Desiring God, touch one of the later chapters on marriage. That motivated me to the idea that at a major anniversary, #5 or #10, we should solemnly re-submit our marriage under the Lordship of Christ.
Most often, when we first marry, we are so hyped that we think little of really submitting the marriage under the Lord. After years of trial, we now see that the marriage is sustained purely by the grace of God. This is when we should seriously "baptize" the marriage and submit it under the Lordship of Christ, and formally acknowledge and announce that we will forgive each other's faults and injuries to us, and begin a new slate.
